A Legacy of Service and Commitment & Storied Political Career

​

Rao Virender Singh is the son of an esteemed leader late Shri Rao Dharampal ji (Ex-Minister HR.), an Indian politician who dedicated his life to public service. Born on 2nd April 1942, Shri Rao Dharampal ji served as the MLA for 15 years from Sohna constituency during 1987-1996 and 2000-2004.

Later, he continued his political journey as the MLA from Badshahpur constituency during 2009-2014 and and served the people of Haryana until his unfortunate demise on 26th April 2021.

Shri Rao Dharampal ji's commitment to public welfare extended beyond his legislative roles. In 1997, he assumed the role of Vice-President of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, showcasing his leadership and organisational skills. His efforts also led to the establishment of an OBC Cell, a testament to his dedication to inclusive politics and social justice, which received approval from none other than

Shri Sonia Gandhi (former Indian National Congress President).

Moreover hailed from a family rooted in service to the nation his father, Shri Maha Ram Yadav, was a freedom fighter who served alongside Sh. Subhash Chandra Bose in the Indian National Army.
